I am thrilled to be teaching Writing Workshop at Park Middle School again this year. I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but I have lived in a number of cities since. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Creative Writing from Elon University, where I studied community writing pedagogy and established a series of summer writing camps and after-school writing workshops in the state. It was through these experiences that I learned my eagerness to teach. I then furthered my education at Brown University, where I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching degree in English Language Arts.
Although I am not currently a student, I think of myself as a life-long learner, and I hope to pass on this very enthusiasm for education to all of my students. While it is a foremost goal of mine to know each of my students as a learner in my classroom, I believe it is equally important that I know who each student is as a human being. I look forward to building a substantial relationship with every one of my students over the course of this year and years to come.
